Well behaved dogs can be walked off lead in the grounds around your cottage, or you can visit the many trails nearby, with Dalbeattie Forest’s way marked walks a few minutes drive from the lodges.

Mountain bikingOur area is a haven for cyclists of all disciplines, whether you are looking to shred the trails of one of four 7 Stanes trail centres within a short drive (Dalbeattie is only a few turns of the cranks from your door) or ride part of the famous 606 mile long Sustrans Route 7 which runs locally from Dumfries to Gatehouse of Fleet and offers a varying landscape with not too many hills!

Dalbeattie 7 Stanes trail centre has Green and Blue graded trails as well the 25km Red graded Hardrock Trail which includes miles of sweeping single track, and some optional very challenging black graded features.  Not for the faint of heart!
